Trip to

Torremolinos

Posted by Daniel

Today we cycled to Torremolinos with two Dakotas, the Dakota an electric mountain e-bike. Torremolinos is a tourist seaside town, it is about 40 minutes by bike from the center of Malaga. It is very easy to cycle back and forth to Torremolinos, there is a long cycle path along the coast. In between, the cycle path is interrupted by some rough nature, where you cross a beautiful bridge that crosses a river. The bridge offers you a view of the sea and the piece of nature you cycle through.

On the road to Torremolinos, you will pass a lot of restaurants on the beach, so-called chiringuitos. Here you can eat fish with a beer. These are not extensive meals, but they are a quick bite with an emphasis on fish. The chiringuitos often have small boats that are used as a kind of barbecue.

Once you arrive in Torremolinos you immediately notice that many tourists come here, large hotels and shops with souvenirs. You also notice in the restaurants that tourists visit Torremolinos, restaurants adapt to tourists, so for example you will see more 'steakhouses' than in El Palo.

We finally stopped in Los Alamos, a village just before Torremolinos. Here we took some pictures and had something to eat in one of the many beach bars.

If you rent an E-bike, it is certainly worthwhile to cycle towards Torremolinos. When you cycle in that direction you can also choose to cycle a bit further towards Fuengirola, we did not do this this time, but this will certainly happen in the future.
