A Coastal Ride from Málaga to Torremolinos

Málaga is a city where, if you want to switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and get a bit closer to nature, you’re just a few minutes away from being able to do so. We’ve already talked about this in our blogs, but this time we’d like to recommend a different spot, to the West of the city.

We are talking about a natural area where salt and fresh water mix to form an idyllic landscape comprising a total of five lagoons, home to a wide variety of wildlife. It is also a resting spot for migratory birds travelling from Europe to Africa.

From Málaga to the Guadalhorce River Mouth

This is the mouth of the Guadalhorce River, a protected area included in the Network of Protected Natural Areas of Andalusia (RENPA), situated between Málaga and Torremolinos.

Without a second thought, we grabbed our bikes and set off along the road heading west from Málaga and, as soon as we could, we joined the cycle path that runs along the entire coast.

Once we got there, we found this amazing area with nice bridges, people exercising and bikes, and lots of cyclists like us.

A little further along the coast: Guadalmar and Torremolinos

We decided to go further because it was a really nice sunny day, so we continued and entered Guadalmar neighbourhood where you can find the Málaga football team training ground. Without hesitating we passed by; maybe we could see some of the players.

After that, we continued with our e-bikes and arrived at Los Álamos neighbourhood, now we knew we were in Torremolinos. We enjoyed the sun and the breeze riding along this amazing cycle path along the coast.

Why explore this route by e-bike?

We highly recommend this coastal route if you’re looking for an easy and enjoyable way to discover the surroundings of Málaga. The best part? It took us just 40 minutes without stopping!

So, if you’re visiting Málaga and fancy combining nature, sea views and a little adventure, why not hop on an e-bike and discover the coast for yourself?
