Experience
Always carry locks so you can leave your e-bikes in case you enter a monument.
This week, our electric bike tour took us to Torremolinos, a charming seaside destination.
During the tour, we explored both Casa de los Navajas and the picturesque neighborhood of La Carihuela.
If you love architecture, beaches, coastal landscapes, and multicultural environments, this excursion is perfect for you.
Plus, doing it on an e-bike will make the experience more comfortable and fun.
Route from Malaga's Soho to Torremolinos
Leaving from our shop, we head west along the bike path next to the beach, skirting the coast.
The route is 15 km long, takes about 45 minutes, and is flat, relaxed, and accessible to everyone.
Leaving Malaga, we pass through Huelin Park, a green space ideal for a short stop.
Further on, we cross the Guadalhorce River, where, weather permitting, we can take a detour to visit the river delta nature reserve, a paradise for birdwatchers.
Arrival in Torremolinos and visit to Casa de los Navajas
Our first stop upon arriving in Torremolinos is Casa de los Navajas, a palace built in 1925 by the Luque-Navajas family, who were involved in the sugar cane business at the time.
Located near Bajondillo beach, this palace stands out for its decoration inspired by the Alhambra in Granada and offers incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Currently, all kinds of events are held here, such as weddings, various ceremonies, exhibitions, concerts, and theater performances, and it is open to the public with free admission.
Exploring La Carihuela
Continuing our tour, we head towards La Carihuela, an old fishing neighborhood that today blends Andalusian tradition with a very international atmosphere.
This neighborhood is notable for its large Dutch community, where you can find establishments such as Bar El Elefante and Heineken Corner La Carihuela, which are popular meeting places for both residents and tourists.
In addition, La Carihuela celebrates special days such as Koningsdag or King's Day, a national holiday in the Netherlands.
It is also the perfect place to taste pescaíto frito, a typical local dish, or simply relax on a terrace enjoying the sea breeze.
Return to Malaga
After enjoying the wonders of Torremolinos, we make our way back to Malaga along the same coastal bike path, allowing us to once again appreciate the sea views that make this route such an unforgettable experience.
Whether you're looking for culture, beautiful views, good food, or simply a peaceful ride by the sea, this excursion has it all.
A perfect way to discover the area!
