Botanical Garden
Today, we woke up eager to visit one of Málaga's most renowned places, the botanical garden, a beautiful spot to explore and enjoy a pleasant morning.
We started our route to the botanical garden from the Ebike Málaga shop, a store located in the Soho district of Málaga.
We headed towards the botanical garden through the center of Málaga, and within less than three minutes we found the Atarazanas Market, a beautiful building that was once a shipyard in the Middle Ages, and today a perfect place to enjoy tapas and buy fresh local products.
We continued our route along the road until reaching the bike lane, which we followed until crossing the La Rosaleda football stadium, the official stadium of the city’s team “Málaga CF,” where thousands of fans gather every weekend to cheer on the team.
Once we passed the stadium, the route to the Botanical Garden continued until reaching its entrance. What was a private estate in the 19th century now belongs to the Málaga City Council. It is a paradise of over three thousand plant species, currently declared a site of cultural interest.
We spent a pleasant time walking through its gardens, among exotic plants, fountain waters, and countless birds—approximately 2 hours of visit, a quick tour because we wanted to continue our route to the reservoir and return another day with more time to explore it fully.
After this, we continued a bit further until reaching the Venta de El Túnel, a very well-known spot in Málaga, perfect for tasting the traditional cuisine of the Málaga mountains. We didn’t have time for that, so we just had a refreshment and continued, but we will definitely come back to try their migas and mountain dish.
We continued our route and turned towards the Limonero Dam via secondary roads, surrounded by trees and nature. A beautiful route, very peaceful and tranquil, with views of the city of Málaga and the reservoir itself. People were walking, having picnics, and enjoying the surroundings.
This reservoir is called “El Limonero,” and it is directly connected to the Agujero reservoir, which we passed on our way to Venta El Túnel.
After visiting the reservoir, we headed back to the shop where we were welcomed warmly and they took care of storing the bikes inside and charging them.
They gave us several recommendations for new routes near the one we did, so we will return sooner rather than later to use the bikes again and enjoy a day like today.
